Couchbase achieved another significant milestone by announcing the general availability of Couchbase Autonomous Operator 2.0 which promotes Couchbase as a cloud-native fully autonomous database platform.
Couchbase Autonomous Operator 2.0.0, released in April 2020 is a landmark release that’s built to take advantage of the latest Kubernetes improvements in the areas of security and custom resources.
The changes in this release enable several advancements in how you can manage, monitor, and deploy Couchbase clusters.
Autonomous Operator 2.0 requires that all Couchbase custom resources use the new format.
What’s New in Couchbase Autonomous Operator 2.0?
- Provides fine-grained access control over different parts of a Couchbase deployment through the enactment of custom resource RBAC.
- Provides automated backup and restore capabilities through native integration with the Couchbase Server tool cbbackupmgr.
- Provides native integration with the Couchbase Prometheus Exporter for collecting and exposing Couchbase Server metrics.
- Can directly manage cross datacenter replication (XDCR) using the new CouchbaseReplication
- Fully supports the Mutual TLS (mTLS) authentication between Couchbase Server and Couchbase SDK clients
- Provides native integration with the Couchbase Prometheus Exporter for collecting and exposing Couchbase Server metrics.
